Legacy Trust
LCRF’s leadership development and mentorship flagship program.
Want to fight for Reproductive Freedom? The Louisiana Coalition for Reproductive Freedom invites you to apply for the Legacy Trust. This is more than a leadership training; the Legacy Trust is responding to OB/GYN deserts, which disproportionately harms birthing people, especially BIPOC and Trans folks, by reducing access to essential reproductive health services. Your community needs your leadership now to build local resilience and sustain access to essential, culturally competent reproductive healthcare.
Doing what we do best:
Empowering leaders, nurturing skills and facilitating mentorship for a stronger, longer reproductive justice movement.
Beginning February 2026, you'll join a cohort of 30 emerging leaders to receive intensive, specialized training designed to equip you as a frontline reproductive justice leader. LCRF is committed to centering your experience, providing you with mentorship, and incorporating global community-led models into the curriculum. Upon graduation, you will be prepared to lead local campaigns, shape narratives, and directly address the loss of OB/GYN care in your area.
By joining the Legacy Trust Program, you are committing to two years of vital real world leadership, becoming a key part of a movement that is gaining national recognition and collaborating with organizations across the state. This is your opportunity to gain specialized skills, receive sustained support, and make an undeniable impact—mitigating care deserts and ensuring all members of your community have access to the care they deserve. Apply today to become one of the community-rooted leaders of the future.
Applications for the Legacy Trust Cohort are due January 31, 2026. Applicants will be informed of their application status February 6, 2026. If selected, the first in-person gathering will be February 20, 2026.

Are you an emerging leader for justice?
We are looking for known or emerging leaders from across Louisiana who are ready to lead in the fight for Reproductive Justice. You don’t have to be a paid professional in the field, nor do you even need to be affiliated with an organization. We will train you in the hard skills you need and pair you with a movement mentor of your choosing to build you into the best strategic, centered, supported leader you can be.
We’re encouraging activists and supporters from BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and rural communities outside of NOLA to apply.
At the end of your training, you’ll commit to serving in leadership— either on a Board or Executive Committee- for LCRF or one of our member organizations.
Our hybrid training combines online modules (a few weekend hours monthly) with in-person sessions (one full weekend monthly). Exact schedule details are forthcoming!
All costs will be covered by LCRF.
Nurture the skills you need.
Growing in your personal leadership style and owning it!
Non Profit Board skills: Reading budget vs. actuals, fundraising for your non profit, conflict transformation, and more.
Long lunch and coffee breaks built in for networking
Wellness practices like yoga, journaling, reflection time, and grounding threaded into every session.
Intersecting with racial justice and anti-racism.
Intersecting with LGBTQ+ issues, particularly with how reproductive injustice affects trans bodies.
History of the work in Louisiana, from those who’ve made it.
Community Organizing skills that will work in every corner of Louisiana.
Community Health Ambassador training will give you the skills you need to mitigate OB/GYN attrition across the state.
“Don't sit down and wait for the opportunities to come. Get up and make them.”
