Our mission is to create a future where everyone has equitable access to the knowledge and tools they need to make informed decisions about their reproductive well-being.
A Little Bit About Us!
LCRF Southwest is dedicated to building informed, connected, and empowered communities through reproductive justice education, civic engagement, and grassroots organizing. Our story began in 2022 as ProChoice With Heart – Gulf Coast, founded on the belief that meaningful change starts with relationships. Before building locally, we spent our early years cultivating partnerships with established reproductive justice organizations across Louisiana, learning from movement leaders while helping others understand the unique opportunities and challenges of organizing in Southwest Louisiana. Those relationships created the foundation for sustainable, community-driven work and eventually led us to the Legacy Trust Initiative, which invested in expanding reproductive justice leadership throughout Louisiana. Through Legacy Trust, ProChoice With Heart evolved into LCRF Southwest, strengthening our capacity while remaining rooted in the relationships, trust, and local leadership that have guided us from the beginning. We look forward to this next chapter alongside our community!
Today, our work is centered in Calcasieu Parish, which serves as a hub for Southwest Louisiana as we work toward expanding our presence throughout the region in the years ahead. LCRF Southwest creates spaces where people can learn, connect, and take action through Reproductive Justice Through Literature: Our Bodies, Our Books, Community Connections, the O Pill Mobile, volunteer opportunities, community partnerships, and local outreach. Whether you’re joining your first book club, stopping by Community Connections, volunteering at an event, or simply saying hello at a local festival, there is a place for you here. We believe lasting change happens when neighbors work alongside neighbors, and that community is our greatest strength, because everyone deserves a seat at the table.

Reproductive Justice Through Literature: Our Bodies, Our Books - Our community book club explores reproductive justice through historical fictions, creating a welcoming space for thoughtful conversations, learning, and connection.
Community Connections - A monthly gathering that brings together community members, nonprofits, and local leaders to share resources, collaborate, and strengthen Southwest Louisiana through conversations and partnership. These gatherings also serve as a space to connect with new and returning volunteers who want to get involved in ongoing community efforts and outreach.
OPill Mobile - Increasing access to over-the-counter contraception by bringing information, education, and resources directly into our communities through mobile outreach.
